Dear Parents / Carers,
It is with great pleasure that I am writing to inform you in more detail of the Languages and Arts visit to Madrid in May next year. To confirm the date of the visit will be Monday 21st May 2018 – Thursday 24th May 2018 inclusive. The visit will include: travel and transfers; insurance; entrance fees to the Museums and Galleries; a tour of the Bernabeu Stadium; as well as breakfast and evening meals in a hotel in Central Madrid.
We believe that this visit is essential for students to develop their current knowledge of Spanish by providing them with real life scenarios in which to practise their language skills whilst in the beautiful Spanish capital city. In addition, students will also visit several galleries, to sketch a range of paintings by famous artists throughout the ages on the theme of War, which will support, give insight and first hand experience to develop their GCSE Artwork.
The cost of the visit, depending on numbers, is approximately £659, plus the cost of a passport if students do not have one. However, this cost could be reduced to £587 if we achieve the target of 35 students going on the visit. Payment of this amount can be staggered over the coming months, with an initial deposit of £50 required by Wednesday 4th October. Please pay this through your ParentPay account.
After the resounding success of last year’s visit we are looking forward to this fantastic learning opportunity for all of our Year 9 students to experience another culture.
