National Citizen Service Letter to Parents X21

A booklet with the covering letter below, will be given to all X21 Students today to bring home.

Dear Parents,

You may not be surprised, but we have been working to secure an amazing End of Year 11 / Induction to Year 12 experience for our students.

I can now announce that, in conjunction with our fantastic partners, Club Doncaster, all our Year 11 will take part in a THREE WEEK experience, with all major costs covered by our school.

The three week experience is provided through the National Citizen Service, and will be from Monday 1st July through to Friday 19th July.

The first week is a residential activity adventure from Monday morning to Friday afternoon.

As this is done through a Duke of Edinburgh Award Approved Activity Provider, this week will sign off the residential element of the DofE GOLD Award, if our students choose to continue the programme either at Post 16 or in the future..

The second week, again Monday to Friday, is another residential at Worksop College where students will work as teams to create a Social Action Project.

The final week will be to work with their teams to deliver the social action project they planned in the previous week in their local community. Bus passes will be provided to fund transport to and from the placement.

We hope you agree that this is an amazing experience to top off Year 11 and prepare our students for Post 16 at XP. We understand that a minority of students will choose to follow a different path at Post 16, but this opportunity is for all.

We will provide more information throughout the year, but if you have any burning questions, please contact the school.

Thank you for your amazing support for our school from the beginning, we will never forget it.

Best wishes,

Andy and Gwyn
