La nueva tecnología en la clase de español…

We’re pleased that the devices ordered through Freedom Tech to aid teaching and learning in and beyond the classroom have now arrived. For those students and parents who have taken delivery of a device – and find themselves with time on their hands in the next two weeks – you may wish to visit the following websites that use emerging technologies to teach Spanish:

Year 10 Fieldwork: Yorkshire Museum

Year 10 will be undertaking fieldwork this week at Yorkshire Museum in York as part of their Raiders and Invaders expedition. Both classes will visit the museum but on different days.

Skipper: Wednesday

Admiral: Thursday

Students will travel by minibus and will depart at 09.15 and return to school in time for lunch, arriving at 12.30.

This means that there will be no change to the normal school day and students are not required to bring a packed lunch.

We politely ask that students arrive with outdoor clothing and comfortable footwear, writing and note taking equipment and devices to take pictures. If you have any questions or queries, as usual please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Send an email to Mrs Batty or Mr Voltaire.

Many thanks

Extended Study C21 Admiral and Skipper

Students in Admiral and Skipper C21 have revision set as extended study this week.

On Friday 20th October students will sit a GCSE style exam paper including two 1 mark questions, a 9 mark question and an 18 mark question. The questions will only be based on the Volga/Rus Vikings which includes:
-The changing nature of Viking (Rus) trade and settlement in Russia from c.750
-The nature of Viking trade and interaction with the Arab world
– Viking relations with Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire

As a result students will need to take their books home this week in order to revise and be fully prepared for Friday.
