The Celebration of Learning for X22 students will be on the 6th and 7th February. Students will be presenting their art work and discussing how they have chosen to represent last term’s guiding question: Who were the Vikings? The evening will begin at 5.30pm with a short introduction by our students followed by an opportunity for parents to view all students’ artwork and speak to students about the process and thinking behind their work.

Skipper students will present their work on Wednesday 6th February and Admiral students on Thursday 7th February.

We look forward to seeing you.

C21 Celebration of Learning: 13th December

As we approach the end of the term, C21 are busy preparing for the culmination of the current expedition, ‘Raiders and Invaders’. As such, we would like to invite the parents, carers and families of all our Year 10 students to their first Celebration of Learning for this academic year. This will take place at the school on Wednesday 13th December at 17.30. The event will last approximately 1 hour where our students will acts as historians, writers and scientists as they present their work and learning to you. This is especially important as this will be a first practice at being an expert for the Viking festival in York where our students will be representing the school in early 2018.

We look forward to seeing you all on the 13th! Thanks for your continued support!

Extended Study C21 Admiral and Skipper

Students in Admiral and Skipper C21 have revision set as extended study this week.

On Friday 20th October students will sit a GCSE style exam paper including two 1 mark questions, a 9 mark question and an 18 mark question. The questions will only be based on the Volga/Rus Vikings which includes:
-The changing nature of Viking (Rus) trade and settlement in Russia from c.750
-The nature of Viking trade and interaction with the Arab world
– Viking relations with Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire

As a result students will need to take their books home this week in order to revise and be fully prepared for Friday.
