This morning in crew X25 were asked to participate in dodgeball to help some year 11 students work towards their sports leadership award. X25 listened to all instructions and really enjoyed the inter-crew competition. Great way to start the day!
Crew Rosa Parks have been extremely busy preparing for their SLCs. They have spent a great deal of time looking at their HOWLS alongside their expedition work and putting it all together in the form of a presentation.
They are looking forward to sharing this with their families. A quick reminder to parents that SLCs begin next week.
Crew Rosa Parks love a challenge. Here they are in the sports hall, prepared and ready to start their Sports Leader qualification. The enthusiasm they have is amazing and I know they will embrace this wholeheartedly. They will be taking part in this every Friday afternoon alongside all crews from Yr 7 & Yr 8. Looking forward to what the next term will bring!!!
Over the last week Crew Piper and Crew Rosa Parks have been holdings Bake Sales during the school day to raise funds for Stand Up To Cancer. We had an amazing response from crew members and their families for all the cakes that were sent in. Students dug deep into their pockets over the 3 days of the sale and we are so pleased to announce that the final total raised was £257.75. A massive thank you to all the students and their families for making this possible.
This morning during Crew time, Crew Piper and Crew Rosa Parks had access to the sports hall. We were expertly led by Elijah for basketball drills and then the crews were split into teams and played 3 games. All students showed respect for Elijah by listening and following his instructions brilliantly. Well done to all students but especially Elijah for his expert coaching.
During Crew Activity time this morning, Crew Newey and Crew Cunningham had use of the sports hall. They spent their time participating in 2 team building exercises. They worked really well together, using their communication skills brilliantly. During the Minefield exercise they had to put their trust in their crew members and listened really hard to their verbal instructions in order to successful make it over the Minefield.
They all worked really hard. We had no passengers only Crew.
A reminder that the X25 (Year 7) celebration of learning is this Wednesday evening, 19th December from 5.30pm until around 7.00pm.
It is important that every student has someone from their family at this event as it helps to provide an authentic audience for their work in what will be a great celebration of their efforts in their very first learning expeditions at XP.
Students are asked to dress smartly as this is a formal occasion. Students can bring a change of clothes or can choose to attend in smart clothes for the whole day.
Student must stay in school between 3.15pm and the start of the celebration of learning. They will be given some time to relax after school and before the last rehearsals, so they can bring a pack up tea if they choose.
